Wood Block Wines – A Family Legacy

Wood Block Wines has its roots in family and farming history. The Kidman family has been working the land for generations, with Tim Kidman taking that legacy into the vineyard. Their story stretches back to 1970, when Tim’s grandfather, Grant Wood, planted the first vines at the original vineyard “Clytha.”

Fast forward fifty years, and the family has expanded their vineyards tenfold. Today, Wood Block Wines produces a premium range of Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and even Coonawarra’s first Viognier. Their A66 range showcases only the very best fruit from each vintage, delivering wines with depth, character, and unmistakable Coonawarra pedigree.

GWB Wines – Crafting Excellence

GWB Wine Estates takes a slightly different approach, selecting only the top 2% of fruit from their 180 hectares of vineyards. With a focus on organic practices—one third of their vineyards are Certified Organic—they are one of the largest organic producers in the region.

Head winemaker Peter Douglas brings decades of expertise to the table, including a long tenure as head winemaker at Wynns Coonawarra Estate. His experience in crafting some of Australia’s most iconic wines (including Penfolds Grange blends) means every bottle of GWB is produced with precision, care, and respect for the fruit.
