Well That’s a Wrap for Beef 2021

My last engagement Rocky Amateurs

My last engagement was to attend the Rocky Amateurs with my clients.

The National Australia Bank at the Chairman’s Lunch.

Great company my hosts NAB Darren Kuhl and Tim Pincombe for hosting the day.

For all those that were up in arms over the meeting been cancelled after the running of first race must remember safety comes first in the racing game.

Rockhampton Leading commentator and sky race caller Russell Leonard keep the whole race course up to date as to what was happing.

Let be honest fantastic news for the club with next years running of the Archer $400,00 dollar race.

I thought it is only right to print this article by Trainer Thomas Smith he has put pen to paper summing it up.

I wasn’t going to make comment on what occurred on Saturday at the races because I didn’t have any runners so it did not affect me, however to hear the comments from the other participants I felt the need to.

You couldn’t pay me enough to work at the RJC because the people who work there are rarely appreciated and always taken aim at for anything and everything.

Those people that everyone is quick to ridicule and demise are the same people who show up every day and work their backsides off to make the facilities and track surface the best they possibly can.

Those same people take pride and passion in what they do and are driven to succeed in their own fields so they’re just as disappointed if not more disappointed by what happened on Saturday.

At the end of the day mistakes are made and accidents happen it’s not the first time a race meeting has been called off but from the reactions of some you would think it was.

People are very quick to forget the position the club was in and the state the track was in prior to the arrival of people in the top office and our current curator.

The same people who want to take aim at the club and people involved in it and complain about anything and everything wouldn’t know the first thing about what to do if they were in the position of the people they choose to complain about. I’m surprised anyone would want to work in prominent positions at club because no one is ever thankful for the work they do but always quick to ask for a favour whilst potting the blokes lending them a favour.

It also goes to show the heart of those who never have anything to say to face of the people they want to whinge about but rather choose to be keyboard warriors which is becoming a common trend in today’s society especially those in the racing industry.

Appreciation is becoming rare and everyone with little else to do with their lives other than to complain are becoming more apparent.

Yours truly. T. Smith
