What great memories I have of being in your company, John.
I’ll never forget the time Elena, you and I took your helicopter out of Darwin to catch up with David Warriner at Tipperary Station — stopping along the way to catch a few barra for tea with David.
They were the sort of days that stay with you.
There were also the road trips to Katherine with Mick Gibson and Old Son, and the many great nights shared at Jellyfish and Cha Cha Char in Brisbane, as well as Char in Darwin.
John’s restaurants were well known for their outstanding steaks, fine dining and wonderful hospitality,attracting well-known identities from around Australia and across the world.
You were a true friend and a great mate.
