The Archer run and won

1300m race held at Rockhampton

The Archer is a 1300m race held at Rockhampton Racecourse in Queensland each year.

The Archer (1300m) boasts a total prize pool of $440,000 and is run under weight-for-age conditions.

The Archer Race concept is based closely on the Richest Race on Turf format that is The Everest. 12 Slot holders are allocated slots at a total of $35,000 each.

The owner of the slot can then determine if they would like to run their own horse in the allocated slot, or negotiate a deal with another horse owner for their horse to run in the slot. A deal is then brokered between the two parties as to a prize money split.
