Bevan was involved with Gibson Howes Bundaberg Sugar cattle when we won the first Aus-meat National livestock feedback trial with Belmont reds (1991) and placed in a number of feedlot trials which followed with brahman Belmont Red cross animals. as a result, toured Japanese cattle industry for 11days with MLA guide. sponsored by Fairfax media.
Bevan always believed in the adage that you have to be able to measure before you can manage. From these trials and success in the show ring my aim has always been to breed animals that are structurally correct and are able to perform in the paddock and over the hooks.
Original animals purchased from Wairuna Brahman Stud. and Lancefield Stud and a lot of knowledge gained from 2 great stud masters in the late Sam Atkinson and Jeff McCamley.
I have had a couple of (IVF) runs and the last few years have used many sires through AI programes which has allowed me to compare sire performance. had particular success with a number of Rockley sires.

LOT 68 Unjoined. Reba is a dark red, clean polled PS Heifer with a great nature. Her sire Rockley Kent is doing a great job in the Riuna Herd producing offspring with above average phenotype and genotype. Reba has an eye muscle EBV (+6.2) within the top 5% of the breed, her 600 day WT EBV (+49) is within the top 30% and her Days to Calving EBV (-4.9) is within the top 25% of the breed. Both her CPI and her LEI (+$58 & +$56) are above twice the breed averages. What a Package.
LOT 69 Unjoined. Elegance 738 is a PP Heifer out of the well decorated dam Riuna Elegance 683/1. She exhibits above average thichkness and growth which is typical of her sire Kariboe Valley Ventura's stock.
LOT 70 Unjoined. Elegance F737 is a full flush sister to the previous lot and exhibits similar attributes.
