Elrose sale spreads genetics to wide area
Strong demand from buyers across Queensland drove Elrose Stud’s Grey Brahman Breeder Production Sale to a $1.9 million gross, with more than 90 per cent of the offering sold and proven sires topping at $34,000.
This well presented 302 Lot section sold to a Top Price of $18,000, clearing 96% under the hammer, at an average of $5,245.
64 of the Sale’s Unjoined Heifers will head to new owners. They topped at $10,000 and averaged $3,367 while the Proven Sire offering averaged $8,600 and topped at $34,000.

I’m pleased to announce the forthcoming Elrose Stud Breeder Production Sale.
Mark Friday 17 and Saturday 18 July 2026 in your diary, as this sale presents a valuable “Opportunity Knocks” event for stud and commercial cattle breeders.
With 460 lots catalogued, the sale offers large-scale selection choice and buying value across all levels of the market.
The offering includes cows and Group Breedplan females backed by more than 30 years of defined selection for a balanced combination of high fertility, optimum growth and “Top of the Grid” carcase performance.
These cattle highlight the substantial advantages available to northern cattle producers who invest judiciously in genetics, predictability and more red meat pounds.
The sale cows represent the entire herd of live calf producers. We have not retained “the tops”. As you will see, they are in full production, with quality calf-recorded, big weanable calves, and will be pregnancy tested again prior to the sale.
The line of cows, across all ages, has been kept very quiet and is noted for easy temperament. The offering also includes PTC, PL and EU Export herd prospects.
The young proven sires catalogued are highly credentialled. They have been running with the sale cows and have all been semen morphology tested.
The cattle are available online through ABBA.
